Oasis On-site Coordinators
Ashley Bates
Bowling Green Oasis
Ashley Bates has been the Oasis Coordinator at the original Oasis site since Fall 2022. A Kingston area local, Ashley is a wife, mother of 3 boys and passionate supporter of older adults. She graduated from the Therapeutic Recreation program at the University of Waterloo and has many years of experience supporting older adult programming in both long term care and community settings. Notably, Ashley worked for more than 5 years in the Sydenham community support recreational programming, physiotherapy and social programs for older adults living in rural settings. She brings a wealth of skills, education and knowledge to the Oasis program here at our building and has been a great support to us all.

Laura Shulist
Hamilton Oasis
Laura completed her degree in Neuroscience and Psychology from the University of Guelph and recently graduated from the Brain Disorders Management program at Mohawk College. She has over two years of experience working with older adults in retirement home settings and is currently also working as a Rehabilitation Therapist for individuals with acquired brain injuries. In her spare time, Laura enjoys reading, running, and baking and is excited to take on a more active role as the On-Site Program Coordinator for the Oasis site in Hamilton!

Ambleside Oasis (Ottawa)
Laura, the program coordinator for Oasis's Ottawa expansion site, is a graduate of both Queen's University and Carleton University. She holds a BScH in Psychology, a BSW Degree, and is a Registered Social Worker with OCSWSSW. Laura is passionate about community support services, having worked with Hopewell Children's Homes, Interval House of Ottawa, and AIDS Committee of Ottawa since graduating from Queen's in 2019. She is delighted to be a part of the Oasis expansion project and is honoured to support the vibrant Ambleside community.
