Men's Shed Kingston & Oasis Partnership

For those of you who haven't heard, Men's Sheds are environments created for men to come together and work on meaningful projects. Simply put, a Men's Shed provides "somewhere to go, something to do, someone to talk to".

The Kingston community was inspired to start a Men's Shed locally, after a visit from Robert Goluch, director and president of Men's Sheds Canada, earlier this year. In partnership with the Queen's University SparQ Studios Makerspace and Oasis, a new Men's Shed has come together over the summer and members have been working hard on their first project.

Last month, CBC Radio's Ontario Morning featured members of the Kingston Men's Shed - you can listen to the full clip here: https://www.cbc.ca/listen/live-radio/1-112/clip/16009699https://www.cbc.ca/listen/live-radio/1-112/clip/16009699

Later that day, the Men's Shed celebrated the reveal of their first project: a beautiful picnic table gifted to members of one of the Kingston Oasis communities! A big thank you to Men's Shed Kingston on behalf of the Oasis Members - we look forward to many BBQs and fun summer afternoons spent at the table.
