Scoping Review on Naturally Occurring Retirement Communities Released
A scoping review led by members of the Oasis Study Research Team has been published in JMIR Aging. This is the first time research on naturally occurring retirement communities (NORCs) has been synthesized.
The review highlights the current state of NORC literature to inform future research and offers a summarized description of NORCs and how they have supported, and can support, older adults to age in place. It provides insights into how NORCs can be leveraged to support services/programs, funding models, and the benefits to older adults.
